Dr. Roizen is a prominent figure in the fields of wellness, medicine, and health communication. He is known for his work in developing the RealAge concept, which aims to motivate behavior change by assessing a person’s biological age versus their chronological age. He served as Cleveland Clinic’s first chief wellness officer from 2007 to 2019 and was the founding chair of its Wellness Institute. The clinic’s wellness programs helped reduce spend by more than $1B for its 101,000 employees and dependents over 11 years compared with national averages. The programs also helped more than 43% of participants achieve a score of 6+2 normals® for health.
