The Science, Art and Soul of Wellness
About the Discussion
What happens when we stop thinking about wellness as a single pursuit and start seeing it as the meeting point of science, creativity and human connection?
Join the Global Wellness Summit for a special LinkedIn Live conversation exploring The Science, Art and Soul of Wellness, the theme of our milestone 20th-anniversary Summit taking place this November in Phuket, Thailand.
Moderated by Global Wellness Summit Chief Creative Officer and Executive Director Nancy Davis, this 30–40 minute conversation brings together three remarkable voices who embody these three essential dimensions of wellness: Kenneth R. Pelletier, MD, PhD, on SCIENCE, Susan Magsamen on ART, and Gabriel “Gab” Olszewski on SOUL.
Together, they’ll explore what their work is revealing about human wellbeing now, why the boundaries between science, creativity, movement and connection are rapidly dissolving, and what they’re most excited to bring to the stage at the 2026 Global Wellness Summit.
Three Perspectives. One Bigger Vision of Wellness.
For decades, Kenneth R. Pelletier , MD, PhD, has been at the forefront of research into integrative medicine, behavioral health, workplace wellness and longevity. A clinical professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the University of Arizona, he has worked extensively at the intersection of scientific research and real-world health outcomes.
Dr. Pelletier has authored more than 300 professional articles and numerous books and has advised organizations ranging from the World Health Organization and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to major global corporations. His work has consistently asked a question that has become increasingly urgent: How can rigorous science help us live not simply longer, but healthier and better?
In this conversation, he’ll bring the SCIENCE of wellness to life, examining where the evidence is taking us and what we should be paying attention to next.

ART | Susan Magsamen
Susan Magsamen is helping transform our understanding of the arts from something we enjoy into something fundamental to human health and flourishing.
She is the founder and executive director of the International Arts + Mind Lab, Center for Applied Neuroaesthetics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and an assistant professor of neurology at Johns Hopkins. Her work explores what happens in our brains and bodies when we engage with art, music, architecture and other aesthetic experiences, and how those experiences can be applied to improve health, wellbeing and learning.
She is also co-author, with Ivy Ross, of the New York Times bestseller Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us.
Susan will bring the ART pillar to the conversation, revealing why creativity and aesthetic experience are becoming an increasingly important part of the science of wellbeing.

SOUL | Gabriel “Gab” Olszewski
Gabriel Olszewski is co-founder and CEO of SANCTUM, the Amsterdam-born mindful movement concept that is reimagining what a wellness experience can feel like.
SANCTUM brings together movement, music, mindfulness, storytelling and collective energy in experiences designed to create something increasingly precious: a deeper connection with ourselves and with one another. Since its founding in 2020, SANCTUM has expanded internationally, bringing its distinctive approach to communities and destinations around the world. They have participated in every Summit since 2022.
At a moment when loneliness and disconnection are defining challenges, Gab’s work explores wellness not simply as individual optimization, but as presence, belonging and shared human experience.
He’ll represent the SOUL of wellness, exploring why connection, ritual, emotion and community belong at the center of the conversation about our collective wellbeing.
Moderated by Nancy Davis
Nancy Davis, Chief Creative Officer and Executive Director of the Global Wellness Summit, will bring these three worlds together in a lively conversation about where wellness has been, where it is going and why its future demands a wider lens.
Expect provocative ideas, personal perspectives and a preview of the conversations coming to Phuket this November, followed by insights from Global Wellness Summit Chair and CEO Susie Ellis and audience Q&A.
A Preview of What’s Coming to Phuket
