One of the world’s leading tourism experts, Baumgarten is the recent, past president and CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council, the global authority on the economic and social impact of tourism and travel. For nearly 30 years he held various executive positions with Air France, including serving as Executive Vice President of Corporate, International & Industry Affairs. He is currently Chairman and CEO of CREWE Associates, a management consultancy. Advisory Board member 2014 – 2017. 

Emanuel Berger

An expert in luxury hotel management, Mr. Berger, having managed the Victoria-Jungfrau Hotel in Interlaken and other leading hotels for over 30 years, serves a board member for a number of hotel companies and travel organisations, including Ecole Hôtelière Lausanne, where he chairs their International Advisory Board. He is sharing his experience and knowledge for hotels, spas and event management through Berger Hospitality Management. Advisory Board member 2009 – 2015.

As Vice Chairman of Revolution and CEO of both Revolution Places Development and a toprated U.S. spa/wellness resort, Miraval, Philippe is recognized worldwide as a leader in the creation of new models of health and wellness tourism. Prior to joining Revolution he served as co-CEO of the Davos-based World Economic Forum for two years, the very institution the GSS is, in part, modeled after. Advisory Board member 2007 – 2013.

Dr. Marc Cohen

Professor Marc Cohen is an Australian pioneer in integrative and holistic medicine and has made significant contributions to education, research, clinical practice and policy. He is a medical doctor with degrees in Western medicine, physiology, and psychological medicine and PhDs in both Chinese medicine and biomedical engineering. Advisory Board member 2007 – 2020.

Richard Dusseau

Richard Dusseau has 25 years experience in luxury hospitality, having been a successful entrepreneur and founder of multiple hospitality, spa consulting and operations companies. He co-founded Spa Strategy, which delivered services to over 240 projects in 38 countries. Richard is now president of Trilogy Spa Ventures, a spa management company that develops and manages innovative spas in hotels and resorts. Advisory Board member 2007 – 2012.

Andrew Gibson

Andrew Gibson brings over 30 years of hospitality and spa experience to the GWS. As a senior executive at Accor Hotels, Raffles, Fairmont and Sofitel, he was responsible for wellness concept design and brand identity for over 600 hotels. Andrew also held senior positions at Mandarin Oriental and Six Senses and served as a consultant to numerous global luxury brands. He is chair of the Wellness Tourism Association and a founding member of the Summit. Advisory Board member 2007 – 2020.

Susan Harmsworth

Sue Harmsworth has spent five decades shaping the spa and wellness industry globally. Founder of global brand ESPA, Sue has recently orchestrated its acquisition by one of the world’s largest online health and beauty retailers. Sue was awarded an MBE from the Queen, is a recipient of ISPA’s Visionary Award, CEW’s Achiever award and currently sits on the Advisory Board for GWS, GWI and Forbes. Jeff Matthews

Jeff is President of Steiner Spa Consulting (SSC) and President and COO of Mandara Spas, part of Steiner Leisure, the world’s largest spa operator and the most vertically integrated company in the spa industry. As Hotel Spa Specialists, SSC has developed over 200 spas with a reputation for delivering on performance and profit. Jeff has more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry with international chains like Four Seasons and Hilton Hotels throughout the Middle East, Australia, Canada and Asia. Anne McCall Wilson

Anne McCall Wilson has a leisure marketing, hotel management and spa development background spanning more than 25 years. This experience, and her personal interest in wellbeing, was the driving force behind creating the award-winning spa brands for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International. She is equally passionate about creating enriching guest experiences as well as great businesses. Advisory Board member 2007 – 2013.

Ingo Schweder

CEO, GOCO Hospitality; Managing Director, Horwath Health & Wellness, Thailand

After 30 years of corporate experience, Ingo Schweder founded GOCO Hospitality, a wellness hospitality development and management company, and rolled out GOCO Spas and Retreats worldwide; Frankfurt, Venice, Ajman, Beijing and Georgia are slated for 2013 openings. Additionally, as managing director of Horwath Health & Wellness, he oversees the development of market research and feasibility studies, wellness concepts and executive recruitment for this global consulting company. Hoping to create a new paradigm in Wellness, Vana Retreats has set out to bring together the most sincere, authentic and results driven wellness offering, with the best of contemporary high-end hospitality. As the founder of this initiative, Veer hopes to create unique wellness retreats, both in India and abroad. Advisory Board member 2013 – 2015.

Magatte Wade

Magatte Wade
CEO and Founder, Tiossan, Senegal

Magatte Wade is passionate about creating high-end retail brands based on diverse African traditions. She was born in Senegal, educated in France and launched her entrepreneurial career in San Francisco. She is the founder and CEO of Tiossan, a high-end skin care products line based on indigenous Senegalese recipes and ingredients. At least ten percent of Tiossan profits are dedicated to the creation of innovative schools in Senegal to develop the next generation of Senegalese genius. Magatte writes for The Guardian, Huffington Post and Barron’s. She has spoken at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Brown, MIT, Wharton and Babson. She was named a Young Global Leader by the Davos Global Economic Forum as well as one of the 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa by Forbes in 2011. She serves on the board of ASNAPP and the SEED Academy, a private school in Senegal. Advisory Board member 2015 – 2016.
