Traveling without Jet Lag Is the Future: Global Wellness Summit Delegates to Receive Subscription to Timeshifter Jet Lag App

GWS and Six Senses have partnered to empower delegates to quickly reset their biological clocks to new time zones through the latest in circadian neuroscience

Miami, FL – September 9, 2019 – The Global Wellness Summit (GWS), the foremost gathering of international leaders in the $4.5 trillion global wellness economy, today announced that all delegates attending its 2019 conference in Singapore this October will receive a one-year subscription to the Timeshifter® jet lag app. The app, which is already deployed by wellness pioneer Six Senses to guests visiting their resorts, was developed with world-renowned scientists and is based on the latest research in sleep and circadian neuroscience.

“I’m very familiar with wellness hacks for sleep and jet lag, but, even though a massage or exercising always feels great after a long flight, it’s never been a silver bullet for my jet lag. Now, I know why,” said Susie Ellis, GWS chairman and CEO. “Timeshifter tackles the underlying cause of jet lag by literally helping you shift your biological clock to a destination’s time zone quickly—and, counterintuitively, this may even mean NOT sleeping on a long-haul flight.”

Ellis put Timeshifter through its paces on a recent multi-continent business trip that saw her traveling from Miami to Italy, then on to Hong Kong and Tokyo, then back to Europe for a meeting in Amsterdam, and finally returning home to Miami over the space of just 14 days. “I can unequivocally report that Timeshifter’s algorithm, which relies on resetting your circadian clock through timed light exposure and, optionally, the right dose, type and timing of a melatonin supplement, worked miraculously.”

“Circadian neuroscience is at the heart of jet lag management and, even though airlines and hospitality brands are doing a great job helping consumers prioritize sleep and wellness, most are still unaware of jet lag science, and, as a result, their advice, products and services are based on the wrong assumptions,” said Mickey Beyer-Clausen, co-founder and CEO at Timeshifter. “I’m thankful to Six Senses, one of our launch partners, for bringing our app to the industry leaders attending the Summit.”

Timeshifter was developed with Dr. Steven Lockley, an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lockley is a world-renowned expert in circadian rhythms, sleep and jet lag and has helped NASA astronauts, Formula 1 drivers and Olympic athletes perform at their best when traveling.

It’s recommended that GWS delegates set up their flights in Timeshifter 4-5 days prior to departure so a pre-adjustment period can begin and to ensure they arrive in Singapore ready to enjoy the Summit’s full agenda of keynotes, panels, networking events, etc.
