Deborah Birx, MD is a medical physician and expert on infectious diseases, focusing on HIV/AIDS immunology, vaccine research and global health. She has served as a special representative for global health diplomacy and was a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. She was also the US Global AIDS Coordinator for two presidents. As the US special representative for global health diplomacy, Dr. Birx aligned the government’s diplomacy with foreign assistance programs that address global health challenges.
