2021 GWS FAQs

What is the Global Wellness Summit?
The Global Wellness Summit (GWS) is dedicated to bringing together wellness leaders and visionaries to positively shape the future of the multitrillion-dollar global wellness economy and get a head start on business opportunities. GWS holds an annual conference in a different country every year and GWS hosted one of the first global hybrid (in-person and virtual) events in 2020, paving the way for safe conferences of the future. Learn more here.

Who attends the annual Global Wellness Summit?
The GWS is the most important conference on the business of wellness and includes delegates that represent every wellness sector, including fitness and mind-body; healthy eating, nutrition and weight loss; personal care, beauty and anti-aging; preventative and personalized medicine and public health; spa economy; thermal/mineral springs; traditional and complementary medicine; wellness real estate; wellness tourism; workplace wellness and mental wellness.

How can I become a delegate?
Invitees to the Summit have either applied to be a delegate or been nominated by colleagues. Learn more here. Virtual attendees may proceed directly to registration, no pre-approval is required.

Where is the 2021 Global Wellness Summit being held?
In mid-July 2021, GWS recognized that it would need to pivot from its originally announced location in Tel Aviv, Israel, due to continued travel bans caused by COVID. The 2021 Summit is now taking place in Boston, Massachusetts, US, from November 30 to December 3 at the Encore Boston Harbor, a Wynn Resort.

There are several reasons for this choice, including the renowned biotech companies that call Boston home; world-class academic institutions that lead innovation…Harvard and MIT, just to name two; the robust investment landscape, particularly in health and wellness; and so much more.

Delegates (both in-person and virtual) will experience three days of expert keynotes, panels and workshops on the dramatically different, yet vibrant future of the wellness economy as the world continues to emerge and be reshaped by the effects of the pandemic.

Where should I stay when attending GWS 2021?
The GWS has negotiated, favorable room rates for delegates at the conference location, the Encore Boston Harbor. This 5-star waterfront Wynn Resort includes a large and luxurious spa and is well located near some of Boston’s most iconic landmarks and neighborhoods. Learn more here

What are the dates of the 2021 event?
November 30-December 3.

What are the safety protocols being taken to ensure in-person delegates and staff stay safe?
The GWS is widely credited with pioneering new health and safety standards for meetings and events. In 2020, the Summit partnered with wellness technology providers to deploy ground-breaking cleaning, sanitizing and air circulation technology. (See Convene Magazine article for more on GWS 2020’s successful protocols.) In addition, all in-person delegates were required to take an on-site rapid COVID test, maintain social distance and wear a mask at all times.

At the 2021 Summit in Boston, all in-person delegates and staff will be required to be fully vaccinated and will be asked to provide proof of vaccination. You will be considered fully vaccinated only if the final dose was administered by November 15, 2021.

How much does it cost to attend the Summit in person?
The registration fee for in-person delegates is $4,395 until August 31 and $4,550 thereafter. Spouses are able to attend at a reduced cost. Learn more here.
